American Horror Story season 6 is only a little more than a month away and we still don’t have a full grasp on what the show has in store for fans!
But luckily for us, TMZ has obtained some photos from the AHS set and from the looks of it they’re filming some spooky colonial-era scenes!
The photos, which were taken in Santa Clarita, California, show an early American settlement in the middle of the wilderness.
Most telling, one of the photos shows a tree with the word “CROATOAN” carved into it.
In case you didn’t know (because I sure as hell didn’t), “Croatoan” refers to the mystery of Roanoke Island where a a small colony of 117 English settlers vanished in 1590.
When the abandoned settlement was discovered, the only clue left was the word “Croatoan,” the name of a nearby Native tribe, which had been carved into the wood.

Eyewitnesses also claim to have seen cast members dressed like Pilgrims on set. I can totally see Lady Gaga rocking a buckle hat.
It was already revealed that this season will take place mostly in the present, but will also flashback to the past.
Where do you guys think Ryan Murphy is going with this?
