Can you imagine Leonardo DiCaprio swinging around a light saber and hanging with droids?
Well, had George Lucas had his way back in the early 2000s, that could have been a reality (well okay, movie reality)!
In a recent interview, Leo revealed that he was offered the role of Anakin Skywalker in the last two prequels of the Star Wars series!
“I did have a meeting with George Lucas about that, yes,” said the 41-year-old actor. “[I] just didn’t feel ready to take that dive. At that point.”
At the time, Leo was the hottest thing in Hollywood coming off the huge success of Titanic.
But clearly the idea of thousands of Star Wars mega-fans proclaiming you to be the “WORST. ANAKIN. EVER.” didn’t sound too enticing.
The role eventually went to Hayden Christensen and guess what, the mega-fans hated him and he eventually disappeared from Hollywood.
Bullet dodged Leo!
