Today in WTF news: No Doubt has decided to move forward with a new album WITHOUT their lead singer Gwen Stefani!
Guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal, drummer Adrian Young and new frontman, AFI’s Davey Havok, are shopping around an album to record labels!
The band has already hired Pat Magnarella, who’s worked with Green Day, to manage them through the transition so it looks like this will be much more than just a short-term side-project.
“We’re in a little bit of limbo right now,” Adrian Young said of the original band recently. “So we’ll see where that takes us.”
Sources close to the situation say the new band may go by a different name, but right now it’s up in the air.
And while this hot mess is happening, Stefani is gearing up to release her third solo album, “This Is What the Truth Feels Like,” on March 18th.
Call me old fashion, but Gwen Stefani IS No Doubt! What would the music even sound like without Gwen’s voice?
But then again, you can’t really expect these guys to just sit around while Gwen does her solo gig again.
